Intel: I want VM

It is the year two thousand and five. A Pentium 4 should have hardware support for virtualization. Why the crap doesn't it? It's not hard. IBM has been doing it on the 360's probably since before the x86 was even introduced. I want virtual machines and I want them without bullshit vmware hackery, and without specific support for it in the guest OS. There is absolutely no excuse for this feature to be lacking.
